MENTORSHIP, ADVOCACY, PURPOSE, AND THE POWER OF WOMEN
After the 2019 film, A Fine Line sparked national conversations regarding gender bias in restaurant culture and the food system, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit was founded to empower women to lead through mentorship and advocacy. Their initiatives include mentorship programs, advocating for affordable, accessible childcare and paid family leave policies, providing financial grants to independent restaurants and food non-profits, and their annual MAPP Restaurant Reset Conference – the only conference for and about women chefs and restauranteurs.
HOW IS MARKHAM INVOLVED?
Markham’s annual financial contribution supports MAPP’s mentorship and scholarship programs and the costs associated with their annual conference. Markham is also the Featured Wine Partner for their annual Restaurant Reset Conference.
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit’s Annual Bâtonnage://Connect Forum and progressive Mentorship Programs are designed to transition “stirred up” conversations about equality into actions that create equity.
HOW IS MARKHAM INVOLVED?
Markham’s annual financial contribution supports the production costs associated with their Annual Forum and Mentorship Programs. Markham Team Members can volunteer to be included in their Mentor Database for mentee candidates.
Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and membership organization boldly pushes the global wine, beer and spirits industry toward a more diverse, equitable and inclusive era through their virtual workshops, education, leadership, professional development scholarships and Annual Global Symposium.
HOW IS MARKHAM INVOLVED?
Markham’s annual financial contributions support the Annual Global Symposium, virtual workshops, and scholarships. Annual Forum and Mentorship Programs.
The first alcohol beverage-specific resource and database which allows qualified buyers, wholesalers, importers, bar managers and supplier diversity procurement managers to easily identify women-owned, women-led and women-made brands in the beverage alcohol industry.

As a women-led and women-made brand, Markham Napa Valley Vineyards’ brand profile is featured on the database.
Through the mantra GOOD FOOD FOR GOOD™, the James Beard Foundation is committed to giving chefs and their colleagues a voice and the tools they need to make the world more sustainable, equitable and delicious for everyone.
HOW IS MARKHAM INVOLVED?
Our annual partnership includes a financial contribution to the organization, as well as an additional donation to its Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Summit, which trains participants to champion a more sustainable and equitable work culture.
