- The 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields of intensely-aromatic, flavorful fruit, with a smooth and uneventful harvest season.
- January and February saw rain, then almost no notable precipitation for flower, bloom and set.
- Grapes ripened early and evenly during a summer with no heat spikes.
Mt Veeder AVA
- Located on the southwest edge of Napa Valley in the Mayacamas Mountains, the climate is cool to moderate, with most vineyards above the fog line.
- Cooler days and warmer nights than the valley floor; typical mid-summer high temperatures top out at about 85°F (30°C).
- Shallow, generally well-drained soils with low fertility produce small quantities of intensely flavored fruit.
