Cabernet Sauvignon

Rockerbox Vineyard
Calistoga District, Napa Valley
1 of 9 Barrels

This Calistoga Cabernet offers up rich, inky tobacco aromas that give way to dense red and blue fruit tones of berry jam, boysenberry, ripe plum and blueberry. This wine is showing beautifully upon release, and its solid tannin structure will also allow for additional bottle age.

At the northwest edge of Napa Valley, Rockerbox Vineyard sits at the foot of Mount Saint Helena where the headwaters of the Napa River begin. The 60-acre vineyard is cradled in a natural canyon, and Cabernet vines root deeply in the rocky, gravelly soils to produce dense red and blue fruit character.

Calistoga District AVA

  • At the northern edge of the valley, Calistoga is one of the warmest and driest of Napa’s sub-AVAs
  • Bordered by mountains on three sides, soils are primarily volcanic
  • Daytime temps of 100°F are moderated by tempering wind and fog that flow through the Chalk Hill gap, falling to low 40s at night
