Crafted from a single parcel on our Yountville estate ranch, this dark and mysterious Merlot invites further investigation into the melted milk chocolate and brambly, blackberry aromas. Lush, jammy black fruit melds with the dense, chewy tannins through to the end on the palate luxuriously. A bit of brightness on the finish is a testament to the age-ability of this wine.

Harvest Notes

2017 brought floods, chill, heat and wildfire.
Budbreak and bloom were on time after a late January chill.
Summer heat dried the soils quickly.
Small berry size and low yields made for dense and powerful Merlot wine quality
Most fruit was safely cellared when the Oct. ’17 wildfires brought Napa to a standstill.
